David versus Goliath.

Who would you bet on?: Government stores or Mail-order dispensaries?

Most Canadians are familiar with the biblical parable of David and Goliath. Legend has it that Goliath, Champion warrior of the Philistines, standing at 7 feet tall, had challenged the Israelites to send over their best warrior for a duel. This one battle would settle the fate of the entire war.

All the Israelites were terrified of the big bad Goliath and refused to challenge him in single combat. All except David, who rose to the challenge with nothing but a slingshot and five stones—then defeated Goliath.

The moral of the story and the analogy often used in business, sports and life are that the underdog can triumph over the big dog, provided they have the right strategy. This battle is going on all over the place, and the odds are heavily stacked against the Davids of the business world.

The legal marijuana industry in Canada is currently observing its own David vs Goliath type of clash. Provinces have government support, billions of investor dollars, and in some cases, went as far as establishing a monopoly on weed sales and growing(Looking at you Quebec). All this to ensure that they are the top dogs in the game.

Mail-order-Marijuana websites, like CAMMP, would be the underdogs of the story. With less budget and no government support, one can wonder how Canada’s black market still trumps the legal sales years after legalization. Let us tell you why.

Speed

Like David, small businesses have the advantage of speed; They can make changes and adjust to trends and customer needs much quicker than the big guys. For example, many products in our vapes and concentrates category like shatterrosin and HTSFE are still not offered in some provinces by government-run stores. CAMMP has provided these cannabis extracts with fast shipping since before legalization because we know the kind of benefits marijuana concentrates can bring to people.

The most recent example of the underdogs serving the public better than corporations is the mystical psilocybin mushroom. Shrooms are on the verge of legalization due to recent scientific breakthroughs, linking psilocybin to increased well-being, treatment of PTSD, depression, anxiety, repressed memories and much more. This is why CAMMP has decided to offer Psilocybin mushrooms to all Canadians who need them.

Giant corporations need to run decisions like these up the chain of command, change laws, ask their investors and go through a lot of hoops before making the slightest changes. Many of us don’t have five years to wait before treating our mental illnesses or changing our lives for the better.

Culture/History

While David was focusing on defeating his enemy, it’s said that Goliath was confidently mocking him. For nearly 100 years, the government has spent time, resources and money keeping marijuana off the streets and making it look like a horrible drug— the devil’s lettuce.

Meanwhile, an underground movement of like-minded people was born: The Canna-culture. People who understood and passed forward the benefits of this flower on the mind, body and soul. Not for a love of money, but for a love of the plant.

Legalization was sold to investors as a dream of incredible return on investment and riches. The truth is, that boom never happened. That’s because many of those investors just had money laying around and decided to throw it at the legal weed industry, learning as they go. Hell, one of Quebec’s LP was a narc before he made the switch.

Most of them don’t really know or respect the culture. Not as well as people who risked their freedom for it, thus they cannot be expected to understand their customers as well as we do. That is why they do not offer innovative products like CAMMPFire Rocks.

Goliath’s apathy to their competitors also feeds into their views on customers.

Businesses with 100 000 customers care much less for one voice than companies with 1000. When shopping at CAMMP, you will experience a much more humane and personal experience. We focus on listening to your weed needs and making sure we keep crowd-favourite flowers in stock like Cookies and CreamPink Crack and Diamond OG

Cheaper prices, same great product.

Because of drastically lower overhead costs, MoMs can offer our product at a reasonable price. When you buy from the government, those extra dollars a gram go to funding their giant warehouses, wasteful packaging and additional employees that MoMs simply don’t need. We offer the same great weed at the correct price.

We also offer bulk deals for those who want to save money by sharing weed with their friends.

David wins. Every time!

Picture a world where the bio section at the grocery store is CHEAPER than the processed foods. That’s the marijuana industry in Canada right now. Government weed is dried to the bone for preservation purposes. It will get you just as high but will be a less enjoyable experience. Come shop our FRESH selection of FlowersConcentratesCBDEdibles and Psilocybin, and find the medication that’s right for you!

Support small businesses:)
